Teaching math is one of the most difficult careers imaginable. It requires a truly talented person to be able to mesh communication skills with hard science.

Many of our math teachers can make much more money working for corporate america. This has produced a devastating under-supply of good teachers.

The United States needs to make math a priority because it is the foundation of other disciplines and because it keeps so many children from learning science.

Science Rocks!!

It is cool to launch satellites and go to the moon. Science and technology produce nearly all of the truly good jobs in our society. Without science we are all competing against each other as commodities. Intellectual capital is a nations best weapon for a good economy and a good defense.

Math Innovation

Entrenched government is hard to change. However, it does need to happen. The united states is falling behind each year. Why? There isn't enough people left that know how to do math. Governement policies are so worried about offending other disciplines (like business) that they do not take the measures necessary. Math needs special treatment because it is the core of science and we are falling behind.
